The suit is the last bastion of good fashion sense. Unless of course your suit is a 12 button draft special, a zoot suit, a Don Magic Juan special or a Deion Sanders/Michael Irvin special.
The exceptions aside, the suit is an essential in every man’s wardrobe. Even more so for a black man. The advantages of wearing a suit are numerous. The right suit makes you look serious about what you are doing and might even help “some people” take you more serious. “Some people” might even say a suit makes you look “less threatening.” Regardless of stereotypes, the bottom line is, a man looks good and feels confident in the right suit. The benefits of a suit are amazing; it almost makes you want to wear a suit all the time.
If you have to wear a suit to work everyday you are probably well on your way to building a decent suit wardrobe. In the alternative, if a suit is not a requirement in your work place you might need some help. Here are a few links from the world of fashion to help put your suit wardrobe together. - IM
