In response to “..managing your shirt wardrobe”

February 27th, 2008  |  Published in Uncategorized  |  2 Comments

dressshirt.jpg In August of last year I posted a piece on an approach to managing a dress shirt collection. My shirts take a beating everyday, snags, ink stains, baby vomit and other bodily fluids, etc. I want to wear quality that lasts.

After reading the article, one of my more stylish friends told me I had it all wrong. “Try Charles Tyrwhitt (”CT”),” he said. CT shirts come in a variety of colors, styles and shapes. The shirts will normally cost you at least $100 but various styles are often on sale for $40. Try the slim fit style so you don’t look like a paratrooper. Add monogram for $8. CT shirts are available in New York, London and online.

CT dropped their regular prices. Shirts are now something like 70 bucks.

Check out TM Lewin. Can only order online. Good quality shirts, always 4 for 100 pounds. By the time you remove the VAT, and pay shipping, it comes to something like 40 bucks a shirt. They will need tailoring, but that is still a final cost of about 60 a shirt.

AND - since very few people know about Lewin, you wont look like everyone else.
