  1. Senator Obama now has an unassailable lead in the elected delegates to the Democratic convention, and his nomination can only be blocked by the superdelegates voting overwhelmingly for Senator Clinton. According to a pollster writing in the Wall Street Journal, that won’t happen.
  2. Pollsters have, however, taken something of a beating in this primary season - their numbers for Barack Obama’s support have been consistently inaccurate except in the South. History News Network has a theory as to why.
  3. Meanwhile, the press has begun to look at and profile members of Obama’s inner team. The Wall Street Journal profiles Valerie Jarrett, who they expect will receive a senior post within an Obama White House. A member of Chicago’s African-American aristocracy, Jarret is from a family of distinguished academics and headed the Chicago Stock Exchange.
  4. Hillary Clinton, while talking about her support among different groups, Clinton said Obama’s support among “hard-working Americans, white Americans” was weaker than her own. While introducing her at a rally, her strong supporter Chuck Rangel called it “the stupidest thing she could have said”, according to NewsDay.
