Clinton Portis gets into it with local radio personality Brian Mitchell on ESPN 980.

Here are some highlights:

Portis: What you go on TV and say, what you sit on your radio show and say, ‘Portis need to shut up?’ Portis gonna keep talking.

Mitchell: You keep talking. Keep talking, bro.

Portis: So the fools saying Portis need to shut up, they can kiss Portis’s ass. I’m saying that. Ain’t nothing gonna change, my man.

Portis: I guarantee you I’m one of the top conditioned players on this team, and you can ask coach, you can ask anybody else.

Mitchell: I don’t need to ask coach, I see you after one nine-yard run running to the sideline, breathing.

Mitchell: Listen to me, I will be truly happy if you lead the Washington Redskins, I will be the first man to praise you, but don’t think you can come on this air and talk trash to me like I’m gonna back down. I talk about football, bro.

Portis: You think that I’m gonna back down? I ain’t gonna back down.

Mitchell: If you ever want to go to that area, that’ll be the wrong thing you do. Believe that. Believe that.

Mitchell: Clinton, I’m gonna tell you like this bro. I always talk. I’m an analyst. I analyze positive and negative. If you can’t handle the negative….

Portis: You’re a hater, that’s what you are.

I see where Clinton is coming from.  What if you had to listen to guys on the radio talk about how you did on your job everyday?  It would get pretty frustrating.
